About me - Lynn Jordan

About me

My passion is to empower writers to use technology to write and promote better, faster, and easier.

My education trained me to be a behavioral psychologist (more commonly know as a rat runner). I had a long and varied career working with computers (and people) in Information Technology.

I founded the Computer Support Department at a local college, for which my education prepared me well. (However, you just can't use a clicker on people. You have to be more subtle.)

Later I developed a college course in computer user support which I taught in the classroom and later taught as distance learning over the web.

All through my college and IT years I continued an ongoing love affair with writing. After days of writing newsletters, memos, and user documentation, I worked most of the nights creating worlds populated only by my characters. If one of my employees caused me problems, in my fiction I could fire him without any problems from pesky labor boards or unions.

I belonged to several writer's groups and helped lead my fellow writers into the world of technology by speaking at local, national, and international meetings and conventions. I talked about the latest invention to help writers with their writing and their careers.

I still receive calls from panicked writers all over the world whose printers won't print, computers won't compute, and chat programs won't chat.

When I left the corporate world, I decided to devote my time and energy to empowering writers to use technology to write and promote faster, better, and easier. This allows me to fulfill my mission of helping others while allowing me to play with (uh..I mean..test) the latest technology.
