We ought to know by now that there is nothing we can do to stop teens from having sex. Okay, not all teens...there are those who will actually remain abstinent.

But anyone who believes that teens will stay away from sex simply because their school doesn't give out birth control is foolish. The classic argument that birth control in school enables sexual behaviors, or condones them somehow is irrelevant and outrageous.

The fact remains that some teenagers will have sex; but does that mean that they should face consequences that are avoidable? As a mom, I say no.
