About me

I graduated with a degree in Journalism from the University of Maryland in 1994. I've spent most of my working life as a nautical and aeronautical cartographer and finally, as a stay-at-home mom for the last 4 years. I'm finding I love it!

My education background is rooted in the earth and ocean sciences as well as English and journalism. I've published an eclectic array of articles on topics ranging from home renovations, health, pet care and parenting to cycling, bike repair, safe boating, finances, and debt management.

My earliest childhood memories revolve around reading books and wanting to be a writer. But life took me in another direction until now. I love just about any and all sports but I confess Maryland basketball is my first love. I'm an avid reader who's diligently trying to instill that love of reading in my own children.

I'm the proud mother of three wonderful girls; all beautiful, kind, and sweet. I have the very best husband in the world. And finally, I'm the proud owner of 1 elderly cat, 2 younger rambunctious cats, 2 hermit crabs (one named Lola), four parakeets, and a eastern box turtle. I'm not sure what critter is going to show up on my doorstep next!
