: About Me

Hi, my name is Brittney I live in Oklahoma. I have been a writer for about five years now. Actually that is just the amount of time I have been writing on my own. I was 13 when I first discovered that I could write, and to be perfectly honest my mother noticed it before I did. I had written my first paper for school, and being a home schooled student my mother was very strict about my work. I remember her looking at me and saying "wow, I can't believe this, the words just flow together!" haha.

I had never even considered writing before then, I just remember thinking about how amazing it was that people could put these words on a page and take you into another world (I was a big fan of fiction novels) and then it was like magic really, I did not even come close to understanding how these words where coming out of my fingers and on to the page creating a story, or just a simple essay about Christopher Columbus. Two years after discovering writing as my passion, and more so writing fiction, I applied and got a job on Mugglenet.com (lumos.mugglenet.com) as a writer in 2005, and was immediately assigned to write a full length fiction novel related to the popular Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. Having finished that book, I decided to focus on school, but soon was itching to write again. In early 2007 I started writing for The Right Punch trying out my skills as a freelance writer.

Since then I have had numerous articles published online, and a few magazine articles as well. I am currently writing my first novel, and I am graduating High school this year. My parents continue to support me along with all my family and friends. As most of you writers out there know, writing is a lonely business, one that takes a certain kind of person. But the main thing is, having those around you for support, who love and care about you, that makes the business of writing not so lonely after all.
