Her bare feet shuffled softly down the dimly lit corridor, unfamiliar as it was. Pausing briefly, her hands searched the finely carved mahogany mass for a smooth, cold orb that would grant her entrance. Ahh, there it was, at her fingertips. Yet, what would await her on the other side? Would the room be welcoming or harsh and foreboding? Now was not the time to wait and wonder, intent on a mission as if something greater than herself was propelling her forward. With a twist and a gentle push, the door creaked open.
