I AM A 55 YEAR OLD FEMALE, BORN AND RAISED IN TEXAS, MARRIED AND I HAVE TWO CHILDREN. A GIRL WENDY AND A SON JOSHUA. MY SON JOSHUA WAS 26 YEARS OLD AND IN 2002 HE WAS KILLED IN A CAR ACCIDENT. MANY OF MY STORIES, POEMS AND WRITINGS DEAL WITH THIS AND HOW IT HAS AFFECTED ME AND OUR FAMILY.
MY DAUGHTER HAS TWO CHILDREN, A BOY AND A GIRL AND MY SON HAS A BOY AND A GIRL, SO THAT MAKES ME A MAW-MAW.
I AM MARRIED TO A CONSTABLE, BEFORE MY SON'S ACCIDENT I HAD WORKED AS A 911 OPERATOR FOR OUR POLICE DEPARTMENT. AFTER THE LONG ORDEAL WE WENT THROUGH WITH MY SON'S DEATH, I FELT LIKE I COULD NOT TAKE MY POSITION OF AUTHORITY AND IN THE MIDDLE OF A CRISIS CHOKE UP AND NOT BE ABLE TO DO MY JOB AND PUT MY OFFICERS, PLUS INNOCENT PEOPLE'S LIVES IN DANGER BECAUSE, I BECAME TOO UPSET, SO I RETIRED FROM A JOB THAT I DEARLY LOVED. THERE IS SOMETHING REWARDING AT THE END OF YOUR SHIFT WHEN YOU GO HOME AND KNOW YOU HAVE TOUCHED A PERSON'S LIFE IN A POSITIVE WAY OR YOU HAVE HELPED TO SAVE A LIFE BY TALKING TO SOMEONE ON THE PHONE THAT WAS IN THE MIDST OF KILLING THEM SELF AND YOU KEEP THEM TALKING LONG ENOUGH FOR OFFICERS TO GET TO THEIR HOME AND GET TO THEM BEFORE THEY HAVE A CHANCE TO HARM THEM SELF.
SO, INSTEAD I WRITE ABOUT NOT ONLY THE PAINFUL THINGS, BUT, SOME THINGS THAT ARE FUNNY, MEMORIES AND ALSO WHAT THE FUTURE HOLDS,I REACH OUT TO OTHERS AND LET THEM KNOW IT IS ALRIGHT TO CRY, LAUGH AND MOVE ON. WE HAVE TO HEAL,TEARS AND LAUGHTER ARE THE WAY TO HEALING.
I HAVE ALWAYS WRITTEN POEMS AND STORIES EVER SINCE I WAS SMALL, I HAVE WON SEVERAL AWARDS ON MY WORK. I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED TO WRITE AND IT COMES VERY NATURAL TO ME. I HOPE THAT AS YOU READ SOME OF MY WRITINGS SOMETHING WILL TOUCH YOUR HEART IN A VERY SPECIAL WAY.

What a Beautiful Day to go to the Rodeo. Houston has the Rodeo and Livestock show every year and Josh & Lisa always tried to make it to at least one of their shows.
