I am a 47 year old housewife, married with 3 grown up daughters. In 1985 I had an accident and am now disabled which for me has been a challenge as I have always been very independent and active.

I am a born again Christian and have been involved in the pentecostal Church for 26 years.
My faith is very important to me.

Family is extremely important and I spend as much time with my children as possible, we enjoy family times such as barbecues and trips together.

I enjoy crafts especially card making, taking pictures and traveling with my hubby in our recently bought motor home. I also love to work on the computer, in the past I have built websites for community groups in Belfast and have published small publicity magazines etc.

I intend to build a website for the motorhome community with as much information as possible especially for 1st timers.

For the past 5 years I have been very active in community development and conflict management in Northern Ireland, spending allot of time working on the interfaces as a mediator between rival groups of catholics and protestants who felt that there community was under threat.
Having been brought up in a mixed family home I held bigoted views, I surprised myself when through the work I was involved in that I could actually see all points of view and have changed my perception on people and communities other than my own. Everyone has the right to a voice and a peacful place to live.
I am proud of the fact that I have been part of the peace process here in Northern Ireland

I have come from a traumatic family home which has made me strong as a person I have had to teach myself many skills and learn how to be socially acceptable. I lost my mother to alcohol when I was in my early 20's having just come out of a violent marriage with a tiny baby to look after, in the deep end I would call it. I am a survivor and proud to say I am winning the battle and as good as anyone in any situation.

My ambition has always been to write a book, or have article published in magazines, although I don't believe my education is such that I will ever achieve that.
I would very much like to sell my hand made cards and build up a business.

Nothing is impossible, I belive small steps lead to big strides.

The Road to Peace

Cold, wet, frightened, my weapon fully loaded

I lie quietly in the grass yards from my targets home,

As I wait I begin to contemplate why this war had started,

why it has gone on so long,

I ask myself will it ever end.

My thinking was interrupted by the sound of a little child crying,

as I looked up towards a dim lit window I could see in the night

the shadow of a father reassure and calm his little one,

Oh how I long for the comforting arms of my father,

sadly that will never happen, I never knew my father, this cruel war robbed me
