Rainer Maria Rilke once wrote, "Go into yourself. Find out the reason that commands you to write; see whether it has spread its roots into the very depths of your heart; confess to yourself whether you would have to die if you were forbidden to write. This most of all: ask yourself in the most silent hour of your night: must I write?"
I asked this question and found that I could not live if I did not write. I feel accomplished when I capture the abstract or transient; a thought, moment, or emotion.
I have worked in cleaning, sales, customer service, several kitchens and offices. My job for the last 4 1/2 years has been with a company that makes interior doors and engineered wood flooring. I am the Inventory Cost Analyst/Cost Accountant. I also enjoy doing volunteer work. I have traveled all over the US, to Canada, and Mexico.
I am happily married to my husband of 6 1/2 years. He is also a wonderful father. We welcomed our perfect little boy into the world on October 28, 2008. We are so in love with this new life. Our boy is a happy baby and very "talkative." I can't wait to see what new adventures we will have and where this life will take us. I love being a wife and mother.
I enjoy camping, hiking, swimming, and cooking. I am an avid bicyclist and enjoy lifting weights. I also have an interest in cars and home repair. I have always loved reptiles. I currently have a ball python named Oliver.
I'm not afraid to explore new things or concepts. I love to be challenged mentally and physically. If I don't know, I find out. Much to the dismay of others, I read the back of every package.
I consider myself an absolute authority on nothing, a novice at many things, and a few good books away from writing about it.
My annoying habit is my wealth of useless knowledge. This comes from my overdeveloped sense of curiosity and my diligence to research everything I find relevant. I love to read and I love to learn.
Please contact me if you would like to hire me on a contract, consultancy, or full-time basis. I am flexible, professional, and always punctual.

My passion is ...
my family and faith first. Of course writing, reading, and learning.
I know too much about ...
nothing. The more I learn the more I realize how little I know.
My parents always told me ...
"Make it work."
My childhood ambition ...
was to be a published poet.
My favorite memory ...
is the first time my husband said he loved me.
Why I write ...
not writing is not an option.
What I am reading/watching/listening to ...
books on parenting, the development of infants, and the Bible. I don't watch much TV. I listen to a little of everything, but fall back on alternative music.
My first job ...
was delivering flyers and filing work orders for my parents' business.
My best moment ...
was the birth of my son, an event for which there are no words.
My inspiration ...
comes from everywhere, my surroundings, my experiences, and especially the idle wanderings of my mind.

My Hair (and the road to acceptance)
When I was young my hair was well-behaved.
It hung straight with a beautiful sheen.
I remember, in fourth grade,
My mother took me to get a perm.
"Just to give it a little body."
I recall the smell of the chemicals
And spending hours in the chair.
Then I hit puberty.
My hair grew thick and wavy.
"People pay good money for body like that,"
My mother would reply to my lamentations.
I've since curled and straightened my hair,
All the while, cursing its in-between texture.
I've purchased every product,
Put faith in all their promises.
Added every styli...
