Dogs are such an integral part of family life in the home that when confronted with the pending loss or sudden death of the animal, it is the same as losing a close family member. Dogs display the same qualities, quirky behaviors, and stubbornness we humans display. They experience the same feelings we do; guilt, joy, uncertainty, caution, curiosity, and contentment.
