I am a young 57 with a good sence of humour, I have a sweetie of a Husband (Pete) and three grandchildren,(Colbie who is 11 years, ( Harry who is 6 years old and Jake who is 4 years old, one of which is also showing tendencies of writing, I sing in a Covers Band called 6pack and I also sing with another female vocalist for Sheltered Housing Communities and Hospices. This is very enjoyable and we get a lot of pleasure from our music.
I get inspiration from people, amusing situations, funny things people say. I wake up in the night with words going around in my head, I have to get up and write them before I forget.
I am probably not the only person who does this.
I hope that other writers will get some pleasure from reading my poems - instead of them sitting in my book - only being read to my Husband and relatives after they have been written, and being put away forever.
I think Helium is a wonderful site for people like me.

I was just over a divorce from my violent abusive husband, and I had a son of six and a daughter of seven. I was only about trenty five.
My daughter complained of tummy pain and the doctor arranged for her to have her tonsils out because there may be infection going into her stomach to cause the pain. She had her tonsils removed but this did not cure the tummy pains, then the doctor decided that she possibly had an inflamed appendix, and we rushed her to hospital, where her appendix was removed to find that it was only slightly inflamed and didn't need removing at all.
