After completing a bachelor's degree in biology and masters degree in psychology, I went on to do just about everything that's legal (and perhaps a few things that weren't). In my convoluted career path, I have wandered into zoo keeping, copywriting, market research, herb farming, pharmaceutical sales, and finally teaching. I am currently a freelance writer and an adjunct college professor, teaching courses in cell and microbiology.
Although educated in the sciences, I have an insatiable curiosity about everything, and my broad range of experience leaves almost no topic off limits. In addition to a background in copywriting, I have published a master's thesis on primate behavior and written on various topics for Helium.com, the Ontonagon Herald, Eaton County News and Michigan Herb Association.
I am the contracted Feature Writer for Microbiology at Suite101.com and the Science & Nature Channel Guide at LesTout.com. Beyond these topics, I also contribute articles on a wide range of subjects including Mental Health, Genetics, Evolution, Chemistry, Infectious Disease, Orchid Care, and Pet Care.
I have also recently launched the website ScienceProfOnline.org, a go-to source for clear, easy-to-understand information on general biology, cell biology, microbiology, including both a Virtual Cell Biology and Virtual Microbiology Classroom.
If you are interested hiring me as freelance writer for your organization, you can present your project and see my profile and portfolio on Elance.com.
On the personal side, I live in Michigan with my husband and three children. In my spare time I try to take a nap ;).
