Andrew Ryan Set in 1960, Bioshock begins with a plane crash over the ocean, after which you descend into a hidden underwater city called Rapture, brain-child of Andrew Ryan, who asks the question "Is not a man entitled to the sweat of his brow?" Unfortunately, things have taken a turn for the worst in Rapture, thanks mostly to a solution known as ADAM, which genetically alters its host, providing amazing abilities at the cost of mental stability....
