I decided to celebrate my birthday for the first time in my life when I turned 30. For religious reasons, we were never allowed to celebrate birthdays in our family. And although all my classmates felt sorry for me and my siblings, we weren't really bothered by it. There was the odd time though. My elementary school had a lunch-time "radio" station, which was basically an ambitious 4th grader who wanted to utilize the P.A. system to fulfill her dream of being a broadcaster.
