Pets or kids ?  Personally I think some of us do well with one or the other. I have heard tales of success in both departments, but I tend to think these were from individuals who were working on scripts for the Sci-fi channel. I do have some knowledge from a family- related level.  My brother and his family are a good example of family + kid surviving successfully.  . With Bubba the Wonderdog  and my niece Kimberly they seem to be doing quite well keeping things together.  Never have received any distress calls from Bubba so that is where I place my proof .
