The mission of Christ Jesus was to do the will of His Father while He was on earth, and by doing so glorify the Father's name. It's as simple as that. Whatever God the Father asked Christ Jesus to do, He would surrender, make the sacrifice, and choose to do it. Throughout His life, Jesus constantly surrendered Himself to His Father. This is seen when Jesus, still a child, asked His earthly parents who had been searching for Him, "Why were you looking for me? Didn't you know I had to be in my Father's house?" (Luke 2:49).
