: About Me

-My name is M.W. Flash Clark and I am a thirty-three year old graduate of VA Tech VPI & SU. I have a thorough background in English and aside from publishing creative works, I have served as an opinions columnist for The Collegiate Times newspaper of Blacksburg, VA, for the past three years.
-Prior to that, I successfully masqueraded as an undergraduate student at Virginia Commonwealth University in order to secure a slot as an opinions columnist and cartoonist for the campus newspaper, The Commonwealth Times. I have published poetry in Text magazine (now out of publication) and have proofread and edited for publication the dissertation of Dr. Paula Caterina Peter, Professor of Marketing at San Diego State University.
-Currently, I attend a monthly salon with the author Suzi Gablik and am seeking acceptance to the MFA Creative Writing program at the University of Naropa in Boulder, CO, in order to nourish my writing career.
-Additionally, I have worked as a bouncer in two local bars, which entailed dealing with impaired individuals in a hostile environment. In my free time I participate in competitive running and have studied the art of Aikido for eight years and continue to assist in the instruction of that art on the VA Tech main campus three days a week.

MawMaw used to take us over to her mother's house on Sunday afternoons once in a while. My little brother and I would play in the yard while the elders talked on the back patio in the shade of some mature maples.
