About me - Allen Mccullar

About me

A serious writer with a passion for poetry ever since I can remember. Luckily, I had a very good English teacher when I was in high school. Despite my gifted mathemat-ical mind, I prefer to write, but you can see my mathe-matical training through the language I use.

My favorite authors are e.e. cummings, Jack Chalker, L.E. Modesitt Jr., and R.A. Salvatore. I suppose that my dabbling in these role-playing fantasy genre really shows, too.

Since I became disabled, I have been able to focus on my writing to the tune of completing five books of poetry of some length. None have been published in their entirety, but many singular efforts have found audiences. I don't write simply of love themes or romantic drivel(though I have some of that) In fact, what I consider my best work is titled, "The Demise of Danny Dominoes". It is a very modern look at archaic beliefs.

I grew up in southwest Oklahoma and now reside in south-west Missouri. I have an AA in Mathematics from the local junior college, and routinely volunteer with local organizations. I have an extensive history teaching all types of students from sixth grade on. At my last count, I had helped almost six hundred adults get their GEDs in the last fifteen years.

My next project is going to be a content web-site to promote literature in this new medium. This is the infor-mation age, and we have barely tapped the surface of what the Internet can be.
