I am a recent graduate from CSU Sacramento. I graduated cum laude with my BA in English. I started writing before I even knew how to spell. As a young child I would tell my mom stories for her to write down and then I would illustrate them and turn them into books. I have always been a big reader and while I was in middle school I read one to two books a week for fun. Going into college I was undeclared. In the back of my mind I knew I'd end up majoring in English, but I thought that maybe I'd want to do something else instead. But in the middle of my sophomore year I realized that I couldn't deny it any longer. I was an English major. That's who I was. It's who I am. My dream is to be a novelist. I don't delude myself with visions of having my works be put into the literature canon; my only goal is for people to enjoy reading what I write.

it's a part of me. I love words.
My first job ...
was working at a juniors clothing store. A good chunk of my paycheck went back to the store for all the clothes I bought.
My inspiration ...
is children. They look at the world with such a beautiful innocence and sense of humor.
School uniforms are an out-dated tradition in private schools, a tradition that should not be brought into public schools. Uniforms promote conformity when we should be encouraging individuality. Clothes allow people to express themselves. We should not stifle creativity and imagination by putting our children in matching uniforms.
