Howdy! Howdy! Please refer to me as "SunshinePrevails", I am married to my husband, Ralph, of 40 years. A lot of hard rocks have rolled into our milestones; but our love and consideration of one another has prevailed.
Ralph and I raised two children. Amy, our daughter, is the pride of our life. She has always been our jewel. Amy and her husband Todd have four children. They are a continuation of our love for Amy. By loving them, we are loving her even more.
We had several neices and nephews to live with us from time to time. We grew to love them as our very own.
We had a son, Wesley Ben, who was born down syndrome, and had a hole in his aorta. The doctors had said he would not live. He defeated all odds and lived to be 23 years of age.
Wesley will be the topic of many of my articles and you will learn what a legacy he left behind.
Ralph and I have spent our entire married life offering assistance to others. I was involved in community volunteer work as my children were growing up.
I was active in the Parent Teacher Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, PeeWee Cheerleading, and Special Olympics just to mention a few.
I was employed with several different jobs; however, Safeway Food Store offered more to my fond memories.
I grew-up on a farm in North East Texas and attend a small rural public school.
I have always took every opportunity possible to play a practical joke or look for something funny. These action gained for me many friends, but yet it caused me to get the evil eye from some spectators who did not find my antics so humorous.

My name is Hazel Auldridge, I will be writing using the name 'SunshinePrevails'.
My passion is ...
I love to work in the yard, share my stories to anyone who will listen, and I am always willing to help that person who is down of their luck.
I know too much about ...
giving advice and helping someone. My husband tells me that I know what the word NO means; but I do not know how to say "NO".
My parents always told me ...
to be honest, work hard, and keep a clean conscious. "If you must say something about someone, Say something good or don't say anything at all."
My childhood ambition ...
were so vast, I could never focus on just one. However; I always fantasied myself as an entertainer; and that one day I would be famous.
My favorite memory ...
consist of two things. I loved the moments my family spent together, as we worked 'hard' in the fields, then at night we played games, ate popcorn that we had grown in our field, and Daddy played his harmonica. Then later as our children were growing up, we often enjoyed a family hug. When Wesley, our son, deceased we were embraced in a family hug. What a wonderful way to travel that final step with a loved one as one begins their journey into eternity.
Why I write ...
is a mystrey to me. I guess I write because I have so many stories to share. I want others to have the opportunity to share some of the wonderful events of my simple life. I have never possessed anything of great monetary value, yet I have been blessed with a multitude of friends. I have experienced limitless events that I want to share.
What I am reading/watching/listening to ...
is questionable. My Daddy would say that I spent my life with my head in the wind. I never sat still long enough to read; but I did watch life. Nature is filled with entertainment, as you absorb your enviroment. Listen to life. Ever moment breathes a new message. It is our responsibility to interpet it.
My first job ...
was picking cotton with my family and friend Gordy in Red River bottom when I was probably about three years of age.. I piled cotton in the middle of the row, then when Mama reached the destination of the heap, she would put the meger deposit into her sack.
My best moment ...
would be each time I open my eyes to see loved ones, to know that life around me is well, and all is content.
My inspiration ...
is the freedom to love people as I wish, to do what I want, when I want, and live a good clean life as I please.
Robbery is a word that has probably crossed the mind of every living human. Whether it be what I would do? How I would react? What would I say? Would I be scared? Would I take the issue in hand, and retaliate against the robber? And the list goes on, and on. Well let me assure you; that regardless to how much thought you have devoted to the subject, whether you had had extensive training, or any fears you may have had; when it actually happens, when you are looking into the barrel of a weapon that could possibly take your life or the life of a best friend, a co-worker, or maybe a loved one...
