Mayv 'SpearBourne' Amaia has been a writer almost since she could string words together.
She was born in May 1981 and raised in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. Though her parents tried to raise her Catholic, her inquisitive mind led her to peruse many world religions and mythologies.
After graduating high school in the spring of 1999, she worked as a waitress, a job which afforded her enough time to devote to her hobbies, such as cooking and continuing to study world history and mythologies.
Mayv's interests are varied and eclectic.
Musically, her tastes range from classical and opera to bossa nova to country to rock and roll.
She is a vegetarian who enjoys experimenting in the kitchen and sampling international cuisine. Her palate is only limited by an allergy to tomatoes. She adores the changing colours and cooler weather of autumn and winter.
Mayv delights in composing poems, biographies of historical figures, as well as fanfiction. She also has a bit to say about the apparent decline in language skills prevalent online, the apathy of society, and the lack of manners and common courtesy that apathy has bred.
The internet has afforded Mayv new outlets for her creativity, not only on helium.com, but on her own website, midnight.mayvs-musings.net, as well.

Live and let live; Fairly take and fairly give; So goes the Wiccan Rede. Are those not words we all should heed? Meddle not in others' affairs, For, if it's not causing any harm, what do you care? Let people be happy, let them love who they will; Don't open your heart to hatred; it's only your own soul you kill. Don't be someone who consumes all in sight; This world isn't just yours; remember others' plight. Give back something to those that you meet, Even if it's just one meal to someone on the street. Live and let live; The freedoms you want, you also should give. Equality and justice ar...
