Where to begin? It's funny, give me a topic, any topic, and I can pretty much write something about it, until the topic is me....then I'm at a complete loss for words.
I'm a mum of three (and one on the way) whose life pretty much revolves around my family. Until recently, that is. I've always loved to write, always done it as some sort of release but for too long, writing was put on the bckburner. Now, though, I'm attempting to write that elusive novel.
Books are my greatest passion (after my kids and chocolate). I love the feel of brand new pages in my hands, the thoughts and feelings of a writer awaiting me in the unopened pages. To be transformed to another place, another time, another life, even for a short while, is a kind of magic. To be able to produce something that can do that for somebody else would be, to me, even more magical.
My passion is ...
my children, chocolate and writing...not always in that order.
I know too much about ...
nothing. I know a little bit about everything but not expert on any one thing.
My parents always told me ...
hold onto your dreams....and eat your sprouts!
My childhood ambition ...
To be a published author and the youngest woman QC
My favorite memory ...
climbing the big tree in my childhood front yard...the births of my children..their first words..first steps...on it goes
Why I write ...
Always have, can't say why, it's as much a part of me as breathing and eating
What I am reading/watching/listening to ...
Reading "Uncle Tom's Cabin" AGAIN, listening to U2, Led Zep and Nick Cave
My first job ...
At 14, part time in a take away shop
My best moment ...
Receiving an award for a short story by the current Australian author of the year
My inspiration ...
any mother who gets up in the morning with a smile on her face...and is still smiling two hours later
