I am a practicing nurse, with a specialty in pediatrics. I have over 15 years of experience in ambulatory urgent care, acute care / hospital nursing, and emergency nursing. I believe strongly in evidence - based practice, which means the things we do to (and for) patients have been proven effective based on clinical research.
I enjoy teaching and mentoring new nurses, families, and the general public about health care. Most recently, I've begun free-lance writing health related articles.
I hold a current active Registered Nursing Licence in the state of Utah, and currently hold the following certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Emergency Nursing Pediatric Certification (ENPC).
Worship is a word we often associate with religion, celebrities, and for me, anything covered in chocolate. Parents fall in love with their babies, but to worship them? That seems a bit extreme. It should be the other way around. Interacting with children and parents on a daily basis, often in a stressful context such as illness or injury, I have seen first hand the difficulties indulged children have coping with things that are beyond their control.
