About me - Lindsay Caudill

About me

I am a 28 year old aspiring music journalist who has a penchant for pop culture and stereotypically useless knowledge. I currently write a weekly opinion column, entitled 'Rants and Raves' for a local publication as well as write endlessly in an online blog.

I love art, especially Andy Warhol and Salvador Dali. I read way too many books and magazines. I worship music and listen to everything from the 50's to the present. I enjoy independent cinema. I am a news junkie. I love reading about/watching anything relating to true crime and forensics. I love stand-up comedy and feel that sarcasm is a necessity in life. I am a huge animal lover and treat my dog as if she came from my womb. I wear my heart on my sleeve in both my work and my personal life.

Briefly me

My passion is ...

music, writing, reading, pop culture, animals/animal rights.

I know too much about ...

useless pop culture information that only benefits me in conversation and writing.

My parents always told me ...

that I talk too much.

My childhood ambition ...

was to write for Rolling Stone, be an MTV VJ, and be a singer. I wanted to do it all, but that changed when I realized MTV is no longer watchable and I cannot carry a tune in a bucket.

My favorite memory ...

involves singing in front of my mirror to Michael Jackson songs.

Why I write ...

I write to emote, to express myself in a way that the spoken word does not seem to grasp, to convey a point, to document memories and history, and to make others (and myself) think.

What I am reading/watching/listening to ...

I am always watching the news, Law and Order, Without a Trace, CSI, Court TV, or medically-related shows.I listen to everything except polka and bluegrass and love, seriously, ALL music.

My first job ...

was as a peer tutor for Special Education students.

My best moment ...

was the day I saw an article in print with my name attached to it.

My inspiration ...

comes from many places, from experiences to strangers. I am inspired by the most random and mundane things.
