I am a poet who was born in the bush. Australia has less and less places you can call 'bush' but my hometown will always be there in the bush.
While I am far away. Nestled in a spot in the Blue Mountains with creature comforts and creative space with a daytime view of, yes, bush.
But that doesn't mean I write bush ballads or bush verse. Far from it. I've perched on rocks above an inner western suburb road and written lyrics. Lyrics about all kinds of things. Particularly political in my youth but also with an attraction to clashing ideas together to see what crawls out of the wreckage.
If it was hit and miss, it was good grounding for the songs I bash out now.
I'm interested in general knowledge, philosophy, comparative religion, comic books, web logs and message boards. I love music and have been to a range of gigs; from Joan Baez to the Butthole Surfers. I'm also geeky enough to stop in libraries of places I've never been to before just to see what books they have on their shelves.

My Dark Side Skulking in the shadows Whispering in the deep woods Creeping cross the lone clearing A flit in a moonless night Sound indeterminate through the winding path Brushing past your heightened senses stirring something in the corner By my dark side Tamping the wick drawing the blind Shutting up and shutting down Finally giving over To my dark side
