Age wise, lets just say that I remember WWII and the "war effort" that kept folks in our tiny community connected. My early childhood was spent living on my grandparents small farm that was worked by grandpa and his sturdy team of field horses. And, no, we weren't Amish. However, we did live in Pennsylvania Dutch Country and my grandparents could both speak the language - especially when they didn't want us kids to know what they were saying. Observing life on this planet as it moved from that time period up to the present has been both mind-boggling and interesting to observe. I've always enjoyed art and writing. Only recently, over the past few decades, have I begun writing in earnest. I've completed two novels, still unpublished, and had some pieces published in our local newspaper and other smaller publications. My quest for understanding life-purpose has led me into, and right back out of, numerous religious groups claiming to have "all the answers". Thus, I now consider myself moving forward on a spiritual quest and leaving religion to history, where I believe it belongs. Reading and learning more about environmental concerns, world religions, ancient civilizations, history, philosophy and esp. quantum theory are interesting and stimulating. Practicing meditation and being out in nature is where I find solace and tranquility. A few of the many things I enjoy doing are: writing; painting; sketching; gardening; bird watching; pressed flower art. See photos and read articles on some of those topics at "Misty's Backyard" blog - address on right column.
