About me - George B Nichols

About me

I live in Chandler, Arizona, with my wife. We've been suffering the heat for about 20 years, and we'd leave tomorrow, but our four kids are here, and they don't want us (and our money) to be out of reach. I'm too proud to tell them we're broke.

I attended the University of Denver for a year and then transferred to the University of Wyoming. They gave me a B.S. in Business Administration in 1979 and a J.D. in 1983.

I used to write for a small Christian newspaper, but sadly, it's gone away. I write now about things that catch my interest, which is what makes writing the "About Me" page so difficult.

Briefly me

My passion is ...

My passion in life is to get it right.

I know too much about ...

It isn't possible to know too much about anything.

My parents always told me ...

Mom always told me not to drive so fast. Dad told me to get a haircut.

My childhood ambition ...

All I wanted to be when I was a kid was tall. I'm still optimistic.

My favorite memory ...

My favorite memory is watching my wife walk down the aisle. It's the second biggest blessing in my life.

Why I write ...

I write because it helps me think things through

What I am reading/watching/listening to ...

I read everything I can get my hands on, I'm watching mysteries on TV, and I'm listening to Swiss Grove

My first job ...

My first job was shoveling the neighbor's snow. I didn't think of it as a job until they started giving me money for it.

My best moment ...

My best moment hasn't happeneed yet.

My inspiration ...

the next challenge!

Definitions of “republic” and “democracy” are quite similar. For example, Dictionary.com (the source of the two previous links) says that supreme power ultimately rests with the people. The difference is with the exercise of that power. In a republic, it emphatically is exercised t...
