So that's where my yearning to be free had taken me! My Australian adventure, this is the story of one of my scariest, loneliest and most rewarding experiences of my life. We (my best friend and I) had become close friends with this millionaire guy from the Gold Coast. He had picked us up on the road when we were lost, had no money, no job and nowhere to go. That's what happens to backpackers sometimes (even experienced ones!). He let us stay in one of his units at the water, he gave us a job and he let us use his brand new 4WD. Wow! I thought.
