: About Me

A very long time ago, I arrived in this world at an extremely young age. The location was Miami, Florida.

Since I lived in the tropics, I reached the age of 30 before discovering there were people in other places who did not work up a sweat drying themselves after a shower.

The first of my five grandchildren was born when I was 41 years of age. Then, at 64, I became a great-grandfather for the first time.

One of my Great-Grandfathers was Jewish. That made my grandmother half Jewish. In the natural course of things, my dad was then one-quarter Jewish thereby rendering me a one-eighth Jew. All this complex mathematics is necessary in order to explain to the reader where I am today. One last number must be included to complete this equation; 1940, the year of my birth.

If I had been born in Central Europe instead of Miami, my fractional Jewish heritage would have been sufficient to qualify me for a free train ride to a high-security, gated community. The odds against me surviving to my fifth birthday would have been extreme.

My parents brought me up in a Christian home. I became a Born-Again Believer in my childhood at the age of eight. My wife and I became affiliated with a Messianic Jewish Synagogue seven years ago to become more attuned with our Jewish heritage,

Why I write ...

I've discovered a degree of talent in the art of writing. After reaching retirement age I finally decided what I want to do when I grow up.

reading the latest series by Brock and Bodie Thoene; watching the CSI's, Criminal Minds, and Are you Smarter Than A Fifth Grader?; listening to conservative talk radio and Israel National Radio via Internet.

Dan Brown must be the happiest fiction writer in America, if not the entire world. With the possible exception of Salmon Rushdie, no other author has ever received so much free publicity as did Brown for The Da Vinci Code.
