Writing is an art form whose exercise informs the community. At the same time, the practice of writing educates the author and hones the mind.

The business of writing combines these benefits into a package to produce work that is an attractive commercial product. Writing for an audience forces some to improve their expression and polish their craft. That's why many of us are here.

I intend to achieve commercial success in writing. Helium is helping me to improve my work, meet and learn from other writers, and discover more about the business of writing.

I learn more about things I research. When I write about them, some of that knowledge stays with me. It feels good to learn more about the world!

So whether you write for therapy, for recognition, or for money - or any combination of these - I am here to help you get it right. We can make it happen for everyone, and enjoy the trip ourselves.

I do some other things, too. I am a baritone with a civic chorale group of eighty-five artists, and play the piano (a little) and the flute (less). Since 1979 I have held amateur radio licenses KB5FPD, KB0UX, and NM0O.

What Outcome Do You Want?

I am fat. That has been my condition for the past fifteen years or so, and only one person on this planet can effectively change that condition. Through the years, I have learned to live with plate-glass windows and full-length mirrors, though neither is flattering to someone who is "super-sized."
