I was born, grew up and received my basic education in Kenya. Having qualified as a teacher, I taught English language in several High schools for more than ten years before proceeding to the University of Leeds in the UK for MA in ESOL. I have also worked in tertiary institutions in the UK in the area of ESOL , and was a blog mentor at the Lancaster University UK .
I have a number of accomplished research tasks including 1st Language Transfer in 2nd Language writing. Currently my area of research is Conceptual Metaphors and Discourse, a PhD thesis due this Autumn.
Away from teaching and academic work, I enjoy writing features, news and analyses for a number of print and electronic media. I owe a great deal to Helium for the opportunity to grow and mature as a writer. I have published a collection of short stories 'The Scheme and Other Short Stories' by WordClay Publishers Bloomington IN US.
