About me

Growing up in Kentucky, doesn't make me a hillbilly, being from Hazard, Ky. does. I am a 43 year old widow with 5 biological kids from my only husband of 22 years,who I met at the University of Kentucky, and 2 adopted kids I just picked up along the line. We won't discuss my animals....
I have a two beautiful grandsons, Matthew Aaron Cotton, And Colton Scott Cotton (say that five times quickly!) who always brings a smile to my face. Of course my children do to, I justlive with them 24/7, I don't Matthew.
I have always wanted to be a writer, since I was 5 years old and wrote my first poem. My life has been a learning experience, which, on a curve, I would grade myself a B. I want to practice as much as time allows as it is really my only outlet, Please send me input as I like to know if my life is as crazy as I think or as average as others are...

As I grew up in a small, coal mining town with much grief and sorrow, I spent much time with my Mamaw in her home in Lothair. She and I would cook, clean, then go to the bargain barn, a second hand store to shop. One day she came upon a poster of a beautiful woman dressed in a Victorian dress, standing next to a large A with an eagle emerging from it. Mamaw explained to me that the lady represented the way early American woman dressed, the A of course was for America with the bald eagle emerging from the A, symbolizing the strength of our great country.
