I was a voracious reader and because of everything I was reading, I decided to start writing creatively at a very young age. I wrote poetry, essays, reflections, novelettes and plays. Drama has always been a special obsession. Once I started working as a professional, I found I had less and less time to write everything I wanted-I had time to write occasional essays. Most of my writing was limited to academic writing, research, and learning modules. Since my family moved to Canada in July 2007, I have finally found time to write and I am determined to write as much as I can to make up for the lost time. I had always known I'd be a professional writer one day. I'm on my way.
It's been less than a year since Papa died. Just barely a year; in fact, a year in September. Sometimes I feel as if he just died, sometimes I feel as if he's been dead for the longest time.
I can still remember quite clearly when he died. I was the last to know, even if everyone knew I was his favourite child. Well, almost the last-my sister was residing out of the country when he died, so it took a few more hours after I found out for her to know.
