MY COLORFUL LIFE

My life has been a whirlwind
Where gentle breezes blow
Then form into a strong hurricane
Taking me where...I do not know
When I get a chance to catch my breath
from being a mother & a wife
I can take each memory & experience
and change them to a color in my life
The reds have always been my favorite
the unexpected and unknown
I guess I'll always have them
Even after the children have grown
The green is what my husband loves
time with friends and family
parties,picnics,bikes & hikes
then eggnog under our Christmas tree
The black is what i most despair
A child who is in his teens
arguments,curfews, tears & fears
doesn't know what RESPECT means
Then there is the color pink
which makes me smile because I know
The little angel in her pink tutu
Will soon begin to grow
She'll change her color to a red
hopefully not to black
Its not easy to let them go
You always want time back
Then comes the famous blue
The curious seven year old
Who would hide behind your skirt
Now he's just too bold
Finally my bright yellow
Our ray of sunshine everyday
The cheeky bully- the two year old
Who chases all our storm clouds away
The blue is the love of my life
Who is the calm before the storm
I cry into his shoulder,he bears the brunt of my wrath
In the winters of my life, he keeps me warm
So when all the colors of my life
Come together in a blend
I know we'll have traveled down the bumpy road
the one that has no end

A DAY IN MY LIFE Bzzz bzzz bzzz the alarm clock ringing Brings me out of my slumber I pull my pillow over my head And I begin to wonder What should I make for breakfast Who needs lunch for school Whats on the agenda today soccer, ballet or a trip to the pool What's the next thing on my list laundry, grocery, bills to pay The dog needs a bath the fish need food then there's play group today Bake brownies for the bake sale some extra for the kids to munch Go across to see my mother Then rush home to prepare lunch Pick the kids up after school then there's homework to be done dinner to prepar...
