I've been writing for 25 years: fiction, non-fiction and songs. I'm lucky enough to have been published in both the UK and US and had songs covered by US, UK and Canadian artists.

"It's OK for you - you're musical..." AAaaaaaargh! No! No! NOOOOO! I can't begin to tell you how frustrated I get when someone tells either my husband or I that. That is not how life works. It seems to start early in life, from what I can tell. People start to label you when you get to school (if not before) and you get labelled either 'musical', 'not musical' or 'tone deaf'.
