About me

A baby-boomer born in Indonesia of Dutch parents who were also born in Indonesia I immigrated to Australia at the age of 15 months. Prevailing economic conditions precluded extending my eduction beyond high school and secretarial college.

It's gratifying to be part of the diverse cultural community that Helium represents. A veritable melting pot, Helium offers us the tools to carve our own niche in a homecoming atmosphere where there's always room for one more at the banquet.

As Channel Steward for Religion and Spirituality the offerings I bring to the table include a background in freelance writing, proofreading, and editing. Working as a researcher for the advertising department of one of the Rupert Murdoch group of newspapers was a memorable phase of my working life. My earlier experience with R&S stewarding rewarded me with a deeper understanding and acceptance of the different faiths we uphold.

A biased admirer of the Religion & Spirituality Stewarding Team, I acknowledge its dedicated professionalism which is tendered voluntarily and with unreserved generosity:

Sangeeta Deogawanka - Hinduism

David Dewitt - Christianity: Christian Holidays & Celebrations

Richard Ellis - Christianity: Bible Study

Yossi Ginzberg - Judaism

Orestes J Gonzalez - Religious Concepts: Thoughts on God

Dan Hiland - Spirituality

Karla Perry - Christianity: Christian Doctrine & Issues

Georgia Stewart - Pagan & Earth-Based Religions

Gulrukh Tausif - Islam

Married for 30+ years we have a 20+ son.

One Person's Faith
It does not seem to occur to a lot of believers that another's lack of belief may lie in the very source that they are quoting. People of other faiths may not believe in the Bible, the Scriptures, the Koran or whatever other writings are being quoted. While quotations from these resources may appeal to members of the same faith, they could actually repel followers ...
