I live in Wellington New Zealand and teach English as second language.I have always been a lover of literature, art and drama and as a young child wrote a lot.Life got in the way after that but in recent times I have been writing things down as ideas come and am enjoying the whole process.
I love to travel and experience different cultures and teaching those from so many different cultures has given me the desire to experience things first hand.Long plane journeys are fertile fields for writing.New Zealand is also very isolated geographically so many of us need to get off the rock occasionally or even frequently.
To Life It was one shining moment in the rhythm of our days, A moment of such clarity and yet introspection, Taking us places we didn't necessarily want to go, Enlightening us, Humbling us too, Startled by its joy, Ambushed by its tender trap, Exhalted, Overwhelmed by stronger forces, An army of feeling and sensation, Lined up before weapons from which there was no defence But to surrender, Not once but many times, Not knowing if,nor wanting each surrender to be the last. For in surrendering there was salvation, A reconnection to life, An embracing of living, Yet dying to the world.
