About me - Tony Santos

About me

Born in Chicago, grew up mostly in Florida. Lived in Europe, The Virgin Islands, and most recently, Los Angeles.

Self-employed most of my life, having run first a profitable travel company, then a successful internet company specializing in hosting, management and web development in Los Angeles. Also completed a couple of successful real estate projects in LA.

Having retired from business before age 40, I've fulfilled my life's dream of being able to sail aboard my 50' sailboat, "Andiamo", which is my current home presently sailing around Panama and Colombia.

My writing has been nurtured from my blog/journal of my various cruising and traveling adventures, which can be seen at http://theandiamo.com .

Now that I've been cruising full-time for almost 4 years, I find myself wanting to write more and about other subjects and stories. Also would like to perhaps do some business writing and consulting on a part-time basis.

I'm also actively involved in various environmental and charitable projects and hope to be able to write about those subjects as well.

It was time to get back down to town somehow. The usual way back to town is via taxi. But for some reason, I wanted to walk it. It was a fairly easy downhill walk, and a clear night to boot. I could only talk my then-roommate Mike, a cool, go-with-the-flow surfer-dude who like me, was also from Florida, into doing the walk back. Everybody else in our rather large party posse opt...
