I am a recent graduate of Denison University with a BA in English literature. I've been floating between a few jobs but am looking to establish myself in the publishing industry in the near future. My passion is editing.
I adore New England, especially the quiet, suburban, not-too-snobby locales. Some of my other interests include music, travel, gardening, and being with friends and family.
My favorite topics and genres include literary analysis of British literature (Romantic and Victorian), short fiction (humor), and poetry. I am also currently working on a full-length novel in the romantic comedy genre.
My passion is ...
editing other writers' work.
I know too much about ...
grammar rules.
My parents always told me ...
they were proud of me.
My childhood ambition ...
was to make tons of money.
My favorite memory ...
is driving back and forth in front of a professor's house with my best friend at 3am.
Why I write ...
because I love a challenge.
What I am reading/watching/listening to ...
Top Chef, while I write notes for my novel and think about finishing Wilkie Collins' "The Law and the Lady."
My first job ...
was a theatre camp counselor.
My best moment ...
was when my parents told me they'd pay for me to go to an awesome private high school.
My inspiration ...
is my favorite professor, Dr. Marlene Tromp.
Card tricks are great fun and can be even more enjoyable if you follow some basic principles: 1. Do not perform the same trick multiple times on the same person. That's how card tricks lose their magic. 2. Practice until you're really comfortable. Sloppy card tricks aren't going to impress anyone. 3. Look for ways to make your trick better and cleaner. There are often many ways to do the same trick. 4. Don't take yourself too seriously. Don't get upset if you mess up or if someone figures out the solution. Card tricks are great ice breakers, so just have fun. This is my favorite card trick...
