Wow, what can I say about me? There is much I still have to learn about life in general although I have learned much throughout my life already. I am a 44-year-old single (again) mother of 5 beautiful children. I have endured breakup of more than one relationship, poverty or living just above poverty, stress, loss of jobs, and the worse hurdle ever was the loss of my oldest son November 2006.
I believe that positive thinking can help anyone endure anything. My creed is a line from a country music song called "Going Through Hell" by Rodney Atkins, "when you're going through hell keep on moving." My favorite saying is, "The only constant in life is that it is always changing." It's kind of like Kansas weather if you don't like it, just wait a day it will change.
Life can either build you up or beat you down but it cannot do either unless you allow it to.
I plan on going back to college soon to complete a Bachelors Degree in Social Work the move on to a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy as I hope to help others learn to prevent common mistakes I have made throughout my life.
I am also in the planning stages of developing a non-profit organization that will raise money for low-income families provide driver's education training for their teen drivers. I feel as a parent it can be sometimes difficult to get through to our teens the important skills needed to become safe drivers. Teens tend to think they already know it all and parents have enough power struggles with their children as it is. Also if a parent has bad driving skills these are often passed on to their teens.
If you have suffered loss of someone close to you because of bad driving skills or also believe in the power of driver's education training I invite you to visit my website at http://forsafedriving.com. As I said it is still in the beginning stages but one has to start somewhere. If you would like to volunteer your writing skills please do so by sending topic related articles to Christina@imabusysinglemom.com
I am also looking for people interested in being on the board of directors so I can get this ball rolling. I only need two people other than myself to get started. The goal is to keep expenses low so the majority of money collected goes directly to people who need it. Opportunities to earn money will present itself as the program grows. I hope to find people with a passion for the cause and who have knowledge or experience with the responsibilities of sitting on the board of directors. To be quite honest I have very little clue as to what I am doing. I have a strong passion for the cause and realize the importance of this program. I have yet to find other programs like this. Anyone with experience in the following areas is invited to join board responsibilities, advertising, fundraising, and promoting. I also welcome any advice or suggestions.
