Life has proven to be one great learning adventure. Married to my knight in shining armor for many years, we have been blessed with three wonderful kids and a life full of many adventures.
My first taste of publication came at the tender age of ten. I wrote a letter to a magazine about a lifetime experience, and they printed it. I was mesmerized by the print of my words and name in the publication. Another dream was born; I added author to my growing list of desired lifetime accomplishments. Helium made that dream a reality when I found it. It provides me a forum to exercise playing with words, sharing my lifetime experiences, and researching topics to write about and share with others.
I'm beginning to feel the pangs of a soon to be empty nest. With a daughter serving in the United States Navy and a son attending college outside of our home state, I am spending much time with the youngest of three who, for many years, waited patiently for her turn at some undivided attention. Life continues to be interesting with a husband whose job allows us to do some traveling, a Beagle who lives for a treat, a Great Dane whose afraid of his own shadow, three cats who add to the mix, and a big old house on a few acres of property we all call home base. It is here, hunkered down at my computer, I allow the words to fly into printed format and hope one finds my thoughts interesting, enjoyable, and informative.
My passion is ...
my family.
I know too much about ...
too little. I just keep asking questions.
My parents always told me ...
I was going to get a stomach ache from eating a ridiculous number of apricots supplied annually by a tree located in our backyard.
My childhood ambition ...
to be an author. How ironic.
My favorite memory ...
the big open mouth kisses on my cheeks by my babies.
Why I write ...
I love the feeling I get when the words just flow.
What I am reading/watching/listening to ...
Helium articles, news report, hum of the furnace in the house.
My first job ...
was working at a florist shop.
My best moment ...
was most certainly exchanging wedding vows. The proof was in the life and kids to follow.
My inspiration ...
my Heavenly Father, of course.
