Being a biocrystallographer, I am working on the elucidation of the molecular spacial structure of biomolecules. I have got the memberships of the International Union of Crystallography and the European Peptide Society.
My doctorate was dealing with the 3D structure of the molecular network of the most important component of the bacterial cell wall, murein. In my dissertation [P. Keller, thesis, FU Berlin 1997] I proposed a set of framework models of murein and a derived structural model of the central pore. This research work was carried out at the Institut of Crystallography in the US founded FU Berlin in the American sector of Berlin in cooperation with the Robert-Koch-Institut. Results have been presented in a poster session of the 1st International Congress of Molecular Medicine Berlin Germany.
Now, I am associated biocrystallographer at the Centre for hiv/AIDS Networking KwaZulu-Natal. Latest publications of mine [Docteur Pierre Quellre]; you will find entries at the WorldAidsCampaign forum and recently I presented a virtual poster on protein structure prediction at the 24th European Crystallographic Meeting in Marrakesh, Marocco August 2007.
For a beach holiday at the German coast - eastern part - I recommend the beautiful village 'TIMMENDORFER STRAND'. -> http://www.timmendorfer.de It is in fact the nicest place you can find, situated near Luebeck in the bay of Luebeck (Luebecker Bucht). You shouldn't miss an excursion to Luebeck, the famous old 'Hansestadt', trade center in historical times with the well known gate (Holstentor). Taste the original 'luebecker Marzipan', a delicious almond paste specialty. The beach in Timmendorfer Strand is excellent, fine sand; the weather is mostly sunny, but of course you should expect som...
