Since I am not exactly my favorite topic of conversation it is difficult to put this into words. First, I am a southern woman with all of the Cajun bells and whistles. I love beer and boudin, having friends and family over for laughs, and catchin' a nap after a hot day (95 degrees, 90 percent humidity, and bugs big enough to saddle and ride). I am also a mom of four kids who rock! And that is my unbiased opinion, of course. Funny thing is, I always said I would never have children. Now, I have four and would not give it up for the world.
I am a survivor. Of what? Life. I have had some challenges. At the age of 28 I woke up in a mental institution, the hold ward, and spent ten days there. It was in that place I learned of my diagnosis of Bi-Polar and was told (dryly) that I would be "strapped to that diagnosis just like a person handcuffed to a chair." Not one to heed advice which delineates my limitations, I fought those words. I walk in health today and have learned to manage my disorder and use the energy derived from it to create. (Hence, my writing. I love the arts.)
While raising my four children and fighting Bi-Polar Disorder, I also managed to squeeze out a Bachelors of Science from the University of Nevada, Reno. I graduated with Distinction. (Hye, not bad for a country girl.) I am the proud recipient of an Award for Excellence in Legal Writing from an instructor known for believing that there is no writing talent to speak of in undergrad school.
Writing is a passion for me. It is an outlet which enables me to express my views of the world with others. Some artists use brushes, others use pastel sticks, I use words.

"How could a loving God allow this in your life?" Ever had to defend your faith based on your life circumstance? Of course you have. We all have. It is to be expected as a Christian. But, do we fully understand that as Christians we should learn to expect certain things in our walk and some of it will not be pleasant? Personally, I don't think that we do. Or, we understand it, but refuse to accept it from a personal perspective. We run screaming and crying when life brings us a bowl of pits and we were expecting cherries. Honestly, can you deny this? I can't. I know that I do not like to s...
