: About Me

Susie is a Christian who loves the Lord heartily and a mother of five grown children. She has enjoyed writing her entire life. When Susie learned to read, she found respite in it - which sparked a keen interest in writing at a young age. She was spinning out poetry at the age of 8 and was recognized for her writing by her elementary school's newsletter. She wrote short stories to entertain friends at slumber parties, and expressed her griefs through writing during the darker times of her childhood.

As a married mother raising five children, she continued to journal her life experiences through poetry. Susie later began working in Special Education with children of all types of disabilities, and discovered a gifted and successful ability with Autistic and Emotionally Disturbed children and delinquent  teens. Susie's passion is to nurture and care for people towards a better - more hopeful life. She loves to communicate through her writing in favor of this endeavor, as well as writing in general. She has four sons who are (or have) served in the military and daughter who has made her proud as well.

Susie has worked hard to become more skillful in dealing with all types of people and in her writing. She loves to learn and and welcomes constructive criticism. This lady finds it irresistible to turn down a challenge and aims to please. "Can't" isn't in her vocabulary.  She is honest; upfront, intuitive, perceptive and appreciative of life; including the hard times which have afforded her strength and fortitude. She doesn't believe in just accepting people for who they are, but rather, she loves to challenge and pull the best out of them; urging them to go the extra mile and overcome. Cheerleader; life coach, unpaid therapist and professional friend would describe Susie. Give her a writing challenge, she'll take it.

Like a gentle rain refreshing the parched Or the newborn resting at mother's breast A soft, sweet song that lulls the heart In euphoric awareness the soul is at rest A welcoming, warming presence discerned Quiet contentment in the midst of the storm No worries or cares, troubles ... concerns A new sense that all is well, is borne Peace, what every man sorely desires Like being 'home' finally where you know you belong All chaos and confusion retired Peace sweetly and softly singing it's song No sorrow, no tears in the cradle of peace And no imitation can match its' power This coveted state ...
