I'm a direct response copywriter who is also a 19 year veteran of real estate sales - and was an owner/broker for 9 of those years. When I took down my license I turned to copywriting full-time, and much of my work is in real estate and related fields.
Because I write for response, I provide my Realtors and others with action-provoking copy to increase their bottom line profits.
My second area of interest is alternative health - I write a weekly e-letter for an herbal remedies company, and am convinced that the natural way is better for our bodies than big pharm.
SEO has become a passion lately as I make changes on my own web sites and see them rise to the top. What fun! I love doing the same for my copywriting clients.
When I'm not writing I play in the dirt in my garden, ride my horse, play with my dogs, or take pictures. I was a co-founder of our local animal rescue, but lately my volunteerism consists of writing fund raising letters for 2 or 3 animal rescues around the country.
What else? I have a retired custom home builder husband and two wonderful grown sons - plus a darling grand-daughter who will soon be 4 years old.
My e-books are all centered around real estate and home building for now, as are most of my articles.
Agriculture has become more about big profits than good nutrition. And the chemicals used in producing our food are downright scary. Of course crop farmers need to fertilize and use products to keep insects from destroying the crops. But I'd like to see "green" products used in place of chemical pesticides, and I'd like to see farmers using methods such as crop rotation, fertilization with animal waste (not human, please!) and recycling/composting methods to rebuild healthy soil. We know that sewer treatment sludge is being spread on fields for fertilizer - and then we read about the water...
