I was born and raised in a small East Texas town that has basically changed very little from when I grew up.
I graduated from the University of Texas in Austin and started work for the government in Florida.
I worked with manned spacecraft during the early days of NASA through the Mercury, Gemini, Apollo and early design of the Shuttle.
I had the opportunity to start my own business and did so, eventually ending up with several small businesses. After some years of business, I decided to sell them and "retire". Selling them was not hard, but "retirement" was a drag!
I then went to work for a large design and construction firm as a management consultant. Eventually I was offered a position with the company overseas and spent the rest of my time with them in many countries on various projects.
When I eventually retired from that company, I started a business raising tomatoes commercially using organic principles.
I firmly believe in a no pesticide - no insecticide method of growing. There are just too many examples of our food chain being contaminated with other things; so the less we introduce in growing, the better we are.
My hobbies include: fishing, grandchildren, photography, building wood sailing ship models, history and enjoying diverse people.
I have a great family with an absolutely super wife.

Usually a board-of-education was made from a piece of 1 inch by 4 inch piece of lumber somewhere between two and three feet long. A handle was usually carved into one end of this board and some had elaborate carvings on the business end of the board. I met the board-of-education on my first day of school at recess. There was a merry-go-round and I liked to ride that merry-go-round. I did not think that pushing ...
