It all goes back to 9/11 and the need to push money into the economy fast and furious. People have no clue how bad the US and World economies were wrecked by Al-Qaeda. Memories are short - especially in politics. The damage rippled large and wide - far far - beyond Manhattan. The response of easy money from the Fed was only one part of a Keynesian fix - which was absolutely necessary AT THE TIME.
