Strokes for Aged Uncle

Semi-private room
Man in hospital gown
Hair askew
Patient-ly waiting for an end
Closed eyes open at gentle words
Staring at wall with grey eyes
Tear in corner but not seeing
Balloon wishes
Morphine movements
Blink without knowing
Three massive strokes
Oxygen tube but no feeding
Hope for early release from this world
Comfort to the adult son
Words of hospice soon
Talk to the unresponsive
CNN giving updates to no-one

Return
Man in hospital gown
Eyes open but not seeing
Light from window
Heart rate strong breathing labored
