Mayflor Markusic is an educator. She taught high school students for 4 years before moving on to teaching in college and training future teachers. She also become a part of a publisher's writing pool and co-authored a series of elementary science textbooks. Her fields of specialization are in teaching, science education, and non-fiction writing. But she also tries her hand at fiction. Her hobby is photography.

I wish he's dead already. I've wished him dead for a very long time. But the old man clung strongly to life, even when IV tubes snaked around his body. The doctors said that his liver is also beginning to fail. His normal booming voice has turned into raspy murmurs. Yet his unintelligible whispers still managed to thrust people into a panic.
