I come from a very large family, six brothers and three sisters. My father is deceased; my mom has lived with me for seven years. I am married to the best guy in the world, and we have seven children between us..six boys and one girl. My middle son is deceased, killed in a car crash two years ago. My husband and I have 14 grandchildren between us, and I'm thinking it's time to make that move to New Zealand...just kidding!
I've been writing children's stories for several years, and I write for two local newspapers. My articles are on home-making, cooking, baking, household hints and lots of humor. I have a cooking show on our local access channel, and my mom and I have a ball doing the show! I also co-host a local radio show once every 5 - 6 weeks for a few hours.
I've never used my childhood as a reason to fail; after all, you can't change the past, so why dwell on it? I love to make people laugh because it takes their mind off their own problems for a little while. I've always been upbeat and positive; ask any of the ladies at our local Curves, where I work part-time.
I love people and I guess it shows, so I can say without hesitation that no matter what happens to you, you can survive and be happy! Look ahead, not back and you'll be fine!

A phone call in the middle of the night is always a parent's worst fear. A phone call late Thanksgiving night was my worst nightmare come true. The clock was striking 11 PM when the phone rang. My brother and his wife were getting ready to go home, but stopped in the process of leaving when they heard my husband's conversation on the telephone. I had heard the scanner 10 or 15 minutes earlier, calling out the fire and ambulance personnel for a roll-over south of the city, and as always, I said a quick prayer that whoever it was would be alright. My husband has been in the fire service for ...
