I am a psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience.
Trained at the Institute for Expressive Therapies, I have built upon my Master of Arts degree with years of continuing education, practice and professional affiliation. I am a Certified Professional Art Therapist, a Registered and Board-Certified Art Therapist as well as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor.
My training has included: Gestalt Therapy, Jungian Theory, Developmental Psychology, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Therapy, Group Psychotherapy, Psychodrama, Poetry Therapy, Crisis Intervention, Trauma Resolution, Addiction, Codependency, Dual Disorders, Adult Child of Dysfunctional Families, Family Therapy, Play Therapy, Sand Tray, Shamanism, Psychosynthesis, Soul Navigation and Reiki.
I have a particular interest in resolving childhood trauma to heal adults. Out of this work I have developed a strong advocacy for men. I believe that our culture has villianized men and given them very little freedom to heal from physical, emotional and sexual abuse.
I have been fortunate enough to have many strong and wise mentors in my life. Among these are Diane Topping, Arthur Meyer, Christine Page, Vija Lusebrink, Patrick Carnes and John Bradshaw.
Why I write ...
because I can!
My inspiration ...
comes from everywhere-conversations, meditations-even dreams!
